Sweden’s Örebro Black Knights ready for next test

The Örebro Black Knights (1-0) will play host to perennial playoff contenders in Sweden Sunday, the Tyresö Royal Crowns (1-1) at Behrn Arena in Örebro.

The Black Knights, Swedish semifinalists in 2016, and finalists from 2013 to 2015, looked impressive in their 53-6 win over the Stockholm Mean Machines in their home opener two weeks ago.

After a two week break, Örebro enters the game healthy. Quarterback Corbin Lawler was solid in his debut in Sweden and import defensive back Danny Wynne had a pick six in the second half. A key to success for Örebro in this game will be if they can find consistency in their offense. Running backs Marcus Hudrisch and Kasper Wedberg will be important for the offense to find that consistency.

Last week Tyresö rebounded from their opening round loss to the Uppsala 86ers in beating the Limhamn Griffins. Import quarterback Otso Flinkman from Finland, made his first start for the Royal Crowns, and was able to lead them to a victory in his first game in Sweden. Keep your eye on the running back duo Emil Knutsson and Josef Ahmadzai.

The game will not be livestreamed.
