Another Argentinian American Football Export – Kicker Miguel Angel Caserma

Argentinian Miguel Angel Caserma has turned his talents on the rugby pitch into a valuable skill on the American football field. The former professional rugby player has found a life in Italy as a kicker for the Modena Vipers in the Italian Football League.

Caserma, who played professional rugby in Argentina with Ateneo Don Bosco Club, Los Tilos de La Plata (URBA), but is a dentist by trade as well, found his way to Italy to practice his trade as a dentist. However, his rugby skills, especially kicking the ball did not go unnoticed.

His power – he apparently kicked a 71 yard field goal in practice – caught the attention of the Modena Vipers, a second division American football team in Italy. The club recruited him and Caserma started training kids, and like Argentinian NFL player Martín Gramática, he became a kicking specialist.
