ABC57 in South Bend, Indiana, launched its newscast in April 2011 with 12 hours a week of local news. Since then, ABC57 has expanded its newscasts to include 44.5 hours of live local news a week as well as special coverage of local and national events. In 2015, ABC57 provided coverage Pope Francis' first visit to the United States as well as two half hour documentary specials - Restore the Roar: Chasing a Championship and Locked Up and Learning. In 2016, ABC57 expanded its news coverage to include coverage of Notre Dame football and basketball games. Saturday Kickoff airs every Saturday at 10 a.m. before each home game. ABC57 Tipoff airs before select Notre Dame basketball games.
