Belgian Bowl XXX features the Battle of Brussels

The Brussels Black Angels and Brussels Tigers will face each other in Belgian Bowl XXX Saturday at Mijnstadion in Beringen, Belgium

This is the third straight year the Black Angels have advanced to the Belgian championship game and they are looking for their second win. In 2015, the Black Angels defeated the Tigers 13-8 but last year they lost surprisingly to the Ostend Pirates. The Black Angels have played in the final six times.

The Tigers are making their eighth trip to the final. They have won the title three times, the last time in 2013.

The Tigers offense led the league in scoring racking up 355 points in seven games, including a 105-6 stunner over the Grez-Doiceau Fighting Turtles. The Black Angels surrendered only eight points total in seven games.

In other words, this will be a battle of the best offense against the top defense.

In the only game between the two teams in 2017, the Black Angels prevailed 21-8.

In the semifinals, the Tigers whipped the Ostend Pirates 58-0 while the Black Angels overwhelmed the Waterloo Warriors 62-6.
