The Hell Hounds looked to improve their record to 2-0 as they faced off against the Cairo Wolves. With some early pressure, the Hounds managed to score a field goal earning an early 3-0 lead. The game was back and forth, both teams relied heavily on their rushing games until an excellent pass from Hounds quarterback Yousef Hamed found their star receiver Youssef Zeitoun, who scored the touchdown, his third in two games.

The Hounds led 10-0, and the Wolves upped their pressure with relentless offense until late in the fourth quarter, when the Wolves quarterback Moaz Sabah hit wide receiver Ahmed ElZoheiry, who shook his defender and took off to score the Wolves’ first touchdown of the season.  The Wolves continued their pressure but failed to close the three point gap as the Hounds defense led by Ahmed ElSewedy, denied Moaz from making any plays.

MSA Tigers (51) vs AUC Titans (0)

Egypt - MSU Tigers 2016

The Tigers went on the offense right from the start, led by their running back Loai El Damanhoury who put up crazy numbers! Loai scored three touchdowns on 124 yards in the first half of play. The Titans found no answers to the Tigers offense, who arguably have one of, if not the best linemen in the league. Head coach Mike Sholars sat his star running back for the entire second half, weighing his other offensive options and they did not disappoint. Both his second and third string running backs: Karim Kilany and Anas Megahed put up high numbers, the latter scoring a 45 yard touchdown.

GUC Eagles (33) vs Cairo Bears (0)

Egypt - Eagles-Bears 2016

In the final game of the week, the defending champions started off their campaign were they left off. The Eagles started off the game on offense, led by their captain and reigning MVP Omar Ebeid. Running back Youssef Salman scored a touchdown on the opening play.

The Bears tried to bounce back, unfortunately their captain and quarterback Shady Ahmed got injured early on and had to leave the game. Bears running back Ali Samir had an amazing game, outmaneuvering some of Egypt’s top defenders on multiple occasions, yet the Bears offense couldn’t get on the scoreboard against the Eagles defense, who outscored their own offense three touchdowns to two.

The game witnessed a huge performance from the Eagles’ Omar Hany and Mostafa Hamad, who combined for nine tackles, one sack, three interceptions and three touchdowns.
