Top 5 teams in Austria dominate end of season stats

With the playoffs in the Austrian Football League now set to kick off, the final regular season stats tell an interesting story. The top five teams in the league dominate except in one category,  tackles where the Cineplexx Blue Devils too first. The Ljubljana Silverhawks finished with the top passing offense in the league as evidenced by the passing and receiving leaders. And the other top five teams – Dacia Vienna Vikings, Swarco Raiders, Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants and Danube Dragons – dominate the remaining major categories.

Passing

Ljubljana Silverhawks QB Anthony Gardner finished as  the leading passer in the Austrian Football League after throwing for  3,207 yards and a league-leading 37 TDs in 10 games. Those are outstanding stats in any league. Dacia Vienna Vikings QB Kevin Burke, is 2nd with 2,990 and 36  TDs following his 398 yard passing performance against the Dragons when he also tossed five touchdown passes. His counterpart with Swarco, Sean Shelton, finished in third with 2,748 yards and 31 TDs. Mödling Rangers QB Taurice Scott  moved back up into 4th with 2,319 yards and 27 TDs while Dylan Potts of the Dragons, finally made the top five with his 2,095 yards and 27 TDs.

Receiving

Matic Tomse of the Ljubljana Silverhawks finished as the leading receiver in the Austrian League after pretty much leading the entire season. He wound up with 1,208 yards receiving and 15 TD receptions.  The Mödling Rangers offense relies on the receiving of Roman Namdar who finished with 996 yards and 20 TDs in 10 games, so he kept his pace of 2 TDs per game. Silverhawks receiver Eugen Sumic was the second half of a one-two receiving punch and finished 3rd with 947 yards and 9 TDs. Vikings leading receiver, Bernhard Seikovits finished 4th with 891 is now 5th with 588 yards. Cineplexx Blue Devils wide receiver Christian Steffani climbed up into 5th in the final two games of the year with 833 yards and 9 TDs.

Rushing

Danube Dragons QB Dylan Potts finished the season where he started, as the leading rusher rusher in Austria (he is the 5th leading passer) with 1,132  yards and 20 TDs. Felix Stadler, one of the few bright spots for the Traun Steelsharks, held on to 2nd and finished with 1,037 yards rushing. Not far behind him is Blue Devils RB Colby Goodwyn with his 759 yards. Ziga Zibelnik of  the Silverhawks wound up 4th with 636 yards while Giants RB Alexander Sanz finished 5th on the list 622 yards and 9 TDs.

Tackles

Cineplexx Blue Devils linebacker Jayden Dobbs finished as the leading tackler with his 71.5 tackles total. Swarco’s Fabian Seeber, who had led the league much of the season, dropped to 2nd with 69.5 overall tackles.Thomas Schnurrer from the Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants kept pace and notched 61 tackles and finished 3rd while Raiders linebacker Philipp Margreiter held on to 4th with 57. Danube Dragons safety Jack Moro finished the season strong and also held on to his 5th spot with 51.5 total tackles.
