Firenze Guelfi’s QB, WR Top Italy After 4 Weeks

After four weeks of play no clear patterns are emerging among the individual passing, rushing and receiving leaders in the Italian Football League. The individual offensive league leaders do not necessarily lead the top teams. The top passer and receiver in the league lead the last place team and the quarterback of the famed Pistol offense is not among the top 5 passers but is a leading rusher. Nevertheless the leaders in passing, receiving and rushing after four weeks of play in Italy make for interesting reading.

Passing

Firenze Guelfi quarterback Eddie Printz leads the league by a comfortable margin with his 1,035 yards and 11 touchdown passes. The Guelfi, although winless are one of the top scoring teams in the league. The Milano Seamen’s Luke Zahradka has his team leading Italy in offense behind his 941 yards passing. Ancona’s Ryan Kasdorf is right behind him with his 932 yards while Dustin Willingham has the Bolzano Giants at the top of  the league standings behind his 865 yards and nine passing touchdowns. The Lazio Marines’ Mic Brown has edged into fifth with 504 yards in three games.

Receiving

Wide receiver Michael Vanucci leads the country with 438 yards in receiving which accounts for almost half of quarterback Eddie Printz’s totals. It is no surprise that the second leading receiver is Reece Horn from the Seamen and number three is Michele Marchini following their quarterbacks. Marco Bonacci of the Bolzano Giants in fourth with 326 yards following his quarterback as well. Fifth place Frederico Carboni proves just how prolific his quarterback Eddie Printz is.

Rushing

Torino Giaguari’s running back Louis Cotrone tops the league in Italy with 486 yards in four games helping his team to a 2-2 record. Averaging almost 125 yards per game Cotrone has given the Jaguars a sense of confidence. Milano Rhino quarterback TJ Pryor is no surprise in second spot with his 363 yards rushing. The Rhinos are a solid 3-0 and with Pryor behind center have a very balanced attack. In fact, there are three quarterbacks in the top 5 as Ancona’s Ryan Kasdorf and Giorgio Bryant of the Bergamo Lions are number three and four on the rushing list. The Rhinos Giacomo Querzola is fifth showing that the Rhinos have a potent rushing attack.
