Football For Life – Team USA’s Journey To China, Final Episode – Gold Medal Game

In 2016, the United States traveled to Harbin, China to defend their U19 IFAF World Championship title from 2014. Team USA had won two of the three world championship tournaments held since 2009 and would be facing six other teams during the two-week event.

As Team USA underwent preparations to take on Canada, Japan, Mexico, Austria, Australia and China, Jason Johnson was brought in by USA Football and he documented the entire tournament following the team from training camp through to the championship final in a continuation of the wildly popular Football For Life series.

The players and coaches of Team USA are on a once-in-a-lifetime journey so follow along and enjoy the ride.

Team USA has settled into life in China and beaten Austria, handily but discovered that they did face stiff opposition and in Game 2 had to come from behind to defeat Canada 32-14. Then the team truly gelled manhandling Team Japan. After rolling over China, the United States squad now faced Team Canada again in the gold medal game.

Could they replicate their performance from a week earlier in the tournament and beat Canada to recapture the gold? Or would their international nemesis prevail?

This has been a true journey, a trip that has brought the players and coaches together in a way they never would have imagined.

Football For Life gives viewers an exclusive look into the lives these young men as they play in the final game of the tournament. And viewers can enjoy the behind the scenes comraderie not just of Team USA but of the players from all of the teams. This was a truly unique experience for these young men that they will cherish the rest of their lives.
