Former Vukovi Belgrade Head Coach Kirk Mastromatteo Headed to Australia in 2016

Kirk Mastromatteo, who last year guided Serbia’s Vukovi Belgrade to the Serbian championship and the final of the IFAF Europe Champions League tournament has signed as offensive coordinator with the Brisbane Outlaws in the fledgling National Gridiron Australia professional American football league. The NGL kicks off in 2016. Kirk is currently head coach of the Geneva Seahawks in Switzerland and worked as head coach of the Cagliari Crusaders in Italy in 2012.

The former Norfolk State University (NCAA FCS/Division I-AA) and Bethune-Cookman University (NCAA FCS/Division I-AA) offensive coordinator has agreed to the offensive coordinator’s position with the Brisbane Outlaws for the 2016 season.

With 26 years of coaching experience, Mastromatteo has also served as an assistant at Widener University, Chester, PA (NCAA Division III) and The University of Akron (NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision/Division I-A) and Waldorf College, Forest City, IA (NAIA Division I) as running backs coach.

His Norfolk State University achievements include, 16 All-MEAC Conference performers on offense 2005-10, first back-to-back 1,000 yard rushers at the university in 30 years (2007-08) and first winning season in NCAA FCS (1-AA) history.

National Gridiron League of Australia set to start 2016

Coach Mastromatteo is scheduled to begin his role in February 2016 and will be involved in various football development programs in Australia prior to preseason start.
