France’s Flash de la Courneuve Sign Offensive Lineman Robert Trudo for 2017

AFI’s John McKeon chatted with the La Courneuve Flash’s latest player signee, offensive lineman Robert Trudo. Trudo , 6’3″, 285 lb, started started 11 games for the University of Syracuse in 2015, nine of them at right guard and two at center. He started 49 total games over the course of his four-year playing career after redshirting his first year.

John McKeon: Can you tell me a little bit about how you came to sign with the Flash?

Robert Trudo: I talked to a friend that was playing there and told him to tell a coach to reach out. Someone did and that pretty much was that.

McKeon: Did you know anything about American football in France or Europe before this?

Trudo: Of course I knew it was becoming popular in Australia and Europe, so it’s cool.

Flash de la Courneuve Robert Trudo McKeon: What are you looking forward to about playing in La Courneuve/Paris? And what do you think you can bring to the Flash in 2017?

Trudo: I can’t answer the second question as I have no idea about anything now, but I look forward to actually playing again and feeling the pleasure of winning again. I guess the French experience will be cool as well

McKeon: I guess the question was more along the lines of what are your strength as a football player and offensive lineman that you will bring with you to France.

Trudo: I have a high football IQ and I love to play. I love to win also and I think that attitude is contagious to some extent. I’m a great run blocker and above-average in the pass game. I bring a different level of physicality, aggression, and explosiveness when I play
