This past Friday the IFAF Americas, the International Federation of American Football‘s federation covering North, South, and Central America, released a statement and preliminary schedule related to the final spot left to a country in the Western Hemisphere.

As the reigning champions, the U.S.A. will be the first representative of the federation. The Americans won the 4th IFAF World Championship held in Austria in 2011.

In addition to the champion spot, IFAF Americas have three more spots; the first two will be represented by Canada and Mexico respectively. These countries qualified directly by finishing second and fourth at the last World Championships.
