Junior Europe Warriors set to play Aztec Bowl in Mexico

With the enormous success of the Europe Warriors in their game against the UNAM Pumas in Mexico’s Olympic Stadium this past summer, Coach Jesus Sanchez and his crew have been assembling a junior version of the squad over the past month.

The “Lil” Europe Warriors will make history according to Sanchez, by playing in the 1st U19 Aztec Bowl.

The Aztec Bowl has been held regularly since 1950, usually between a Mexican college all star team and an NCAA Division II/III all star team.

In last year’s game, the Mexican ONEFA All Stars defeated the All American Eagles 27-19 in Aztec Bowl XLIII.

This year’s game is scheduled for December 9 with the U19 game preceding the senior game.

While the senior Europe Warriors team will be playing new games in 2018, the juniors will make their historic debut. This will be the first time the Aztec Bowl will feature a game pitting two U19 teams.

Sanchez, who is also head coach of Spain’s Osos Rivas football team from Madrid:

“Since we chose the U19 game we have been working on the idea of changing positively some lives of our lil Warriors, now we can proudly say we have created that opportunity by having the presence of recruiters in our practices and game, the scouts from some of the main universities in Mexico are confirmed and they feel very excited about being part of this journey. It’s been a lot of work but it’s worth it just by thinking if one of our player gets an offer to continue playing and studying in Mexico with a full scholarship.

For this game we decided to put together a new coaching staff formed in the majority by players of the Europe Warriors Senior Team. We think this follows our philosophy of developing and exposing talent. Since the beginning our vision was to develop a platform that helps players and coaches to being discovered and give them the opportunity of living once in a lifetime experiences all around the world.”

As usual the players only have to pay for their round trip flight from wherever they are to Mexico City and once they get there Europe Warriors takes care of them.

This includes the following:

  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Transportation in Mexico
  • Insurance
  • Game uniforms jersey/pants (players can keep it)
  • Tape, physiotherapists and medical service at the field on every practice and game day

Europe Warriors activities in Mexico will run from December 1st until December 11th.
