Koç Rams Triumph in Turkey To Win First Ever Title

The Koç Rams have taken a huge step forward in 2016 advancing to the IFAF Europe Champions League Final Four and now they have added the Turkish title to their accomplishments. The Rams staged a late-game rally to defeat the Bogazici Sultans 21-14 to win the Turkish championship for the first time in their history and remain undefeated so far in 2016.

Running back Steven Strother had an outstanding game leading the Rams with a kickoff return touchdown, a rushing touchdown and two interceptions.

Turkey - Rams-Sultans 2016 title game

Steven Strother was unstoppable

Quarterback Palmer Wilsie connected with Saygun Ofluoğlu for the Rams go-ahead touchdown with less than two minutes to go while the Rams defense anchored by Serbian defensive end Milos Lisanin shut down the vaunted Sultans running game.

Strother’s kickoff return touchdown was crucial as it came after the Sultans had taken a 14-7 lead in the fourth quarter. He followed that up with a key interception to halt the Sultans on the next possession.

Bogazici quarterback Emre Sezgin threw touchdown passes to Kubilay Ceylan and Yasin Can Parlak in a losing cause.
