As we enter Week 6 of France’s Casque de Diamant, the Flash de la Courneuve, currently 3rd in the Elite league, and will host the undefeated league leader, the St. Ouen Cougars.

The Cougars have looked increasingly strong over the past few years and to find a Flash victory in St. Ouen we must go back to the 2011/2012 season, where the Flash won both meetings of the two teams.

cougars flash 9Since then, it is the Cougars who have not lost. In 2012/2013 they won at home in Val d’Oise and played the Flash to a draw at Geo André in La Courneuve. 2014 was also a winless year for the Flash in the match-up.

Aside from the desire to end this streak, Saturday’s game will be crucial for the Flash’s place in the play-offs, as three teams (Flash, Black Panthers, Dauphins) are tied at 3-2 on the table.
