The UTA Pesaro head to Florence, Italy March 3 to take on the Firenze Guelfi in the opening game of Italy’s Div. I 2018 season.

The two teams faced each other once in 2017 with the Guelfi coming out on top 14-6. Although each had identical 2-8 records, the UTAs (United Titans Angels) were close to stealing games against top ranked opponents. The Parma Panthers barely got by them 3-0.

Nevertheless, the hometown Guelfi under new head coach Brett Morgan and QB Anthony Dawson could prove to be a problem for Pesaro. Italy’s top receiver, Mike Vanucci, has moved over from the Bolzano Giants and could pose problems for the Pesaro secondary.

However, if Pesaro head coach Giorgio Gerbaldi can sneak a win in early in the season, the UTAs could gain some confidence.
