LIVESTREAM: IFAF U19 World Junior Championship – Team Mexico v. Team Japan, July 14, 2p (3p EST, 9p CEST)

The hosts, Team Mexico will take on the Japanese national team in the second game of the 2018 IFAF U19 World Championships in Mexico City, Saturday, July 14.

The last time these two teams faced each other was in the 2016 tournament in Harbin, China when Mexico won the bronze medal by defeating Team Japan 24-7.

Since the inaugural tournament was held in 2009, Mexico and Japan have played each other four times. In that initial year, Japan and Mexico did not meet until the bronze medal game which Japan won, beating the Mexicans 42-27. Mexico did not participate in the 2012 tournament when Japan won bronze again, this time downing Austria for the medal.

In 2014, Mexico and Japan played to a 24-24 tie in the group stage. Mexico went on to win bronze, beating Austria in the bronze medal game. Japan finished fifth.
