LIVESTREAM: Portugal – Cascais Crusaders @Lisboa Devils, Jan. 6, 3p (4p CEST, 10a EST)

The Lisboa Devils, Portuguese champions in 2016 and 2017, will play host to the Cascais Crusaders Sunday, January 6, in the opening game for both teams of the Portuguese League of American Football 2019 season.

Lisboa defeated the Crusaders 23-14 in the final of the “Torneio Fundadores” (Founders Cup), a couple of weeks ago , after scoring 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

Crusaders head coach, Paulo Terrinca, is also the Team Portugal offensive coordinator, the Devils new head coach Nuno Félix is the defensive coordinator for Team Portugal.

Lisboa will likely start Pedro Flores at quarterback although Bernardo Solipa could get the nod. Jesuino Furtado will start at running back while veteran MLB, David Martins anchors the defense.

For the Crusaders, Matias Manuel will line up behind center at quarterback with Wilson Rocha also in the back field at running back. João “Train” Marques starts at both running back and outside linebacker.

The game was supposed to go live here but there are last-minute technical issues that have now prevented it from being shown.
