Megatron, Reggie Bush Ready and in London

After considerable speculation suggesting the Detroit Lions might put superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson on ice until Week 10, the team arrived in London earlier this week with all their big names present and accounted for.

Megatron arrived in London with his team-mates and appears to be pushing hard for a return to the playing field this Sunday as the Lions take on the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium.

“I’m back running,” Johnson said. “That’s a great thing for me right now.”

Johnson has missed the last two Lions games with a high ankle sprain but did undergo a lengthy pre-game workout ahead of Detroit’s Week 7 win over New Orleans. He was put through his paces for quite some time last weekend, including running and hopping on his injured ankle.

Looking ahead to the game in London this weekend, Johnson added: “This is going to be great. The British NFL fans have got a treat coming because there are so many great wide receivers who are going to be on the field at Wembley Stadium.”

Reggie Bush has also been battling an ankle injury but is ready to go and he is especially keen to play in London having missed the New Orleans Saints game at Wembley in 2008 due to a knee injury.

Bush tweeted:

“I feel like a kid on a field trip. I’m happy to be back. Let’s get this win.”

The Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions clash in regular season action at Wembley on Sunday October 26, with the game kicking off at 1:30pm BST.
