National Gridiron League To Hold First Combine in Australia

The National Gridiron League of Australia is holding its first Australian combine on April 24 at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

The league has been signing international/import players for all of the teams but now the NGL will also focus on players from Australia and New Zealand.

The NGL has already held a combine in Orlando, Florida with excellent results. And although this combine is aimed at local players, international players now residing in Australia are encouraged to come out and even players from other parts of the world can travel to Australia for the combine.

The testing will consist of standard tests such as the 40-yard dash, the three-cone shuttle, 5-10-5 shuttle and the vertical jump along with football-specific drills.

Following the initial testing, select players will be invited to participate in football-specific drills coordinated by NGL coaching staff. A report will be issued to every participant and will also be available via a mobile app.

Anyone interested must remember that they have to register in advance and that registration closes on April 15, 2016. A player cannot show up in person and participate without having registered in advance.

Each participant will be issued an athletic shirt/T-shirt and shorts but must provide their own cleats and accessories. The event is non-contact so pads and helmets are not required.

Players should keep in mind that an NGL roster spot is a full-time position and will involve extensive travel during the NGL season.

The registration fee is AUS$ 59.00 and is payable upon registration online. To register online and for more information click here.
