Serbia’s Kragujevac Wild Boars re-sign QB Dalton Oliver

The Kragujevac Wild Boars,  reigning Serbian champions have re-signed quarterback Dalton Oliver for 2018.

Oliver, 6’4″, 205 lbs, from the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers (NCAA Div.II), was a key factor in the Wild Boars march to their second straight Serbian championship in 2017. He arrived partway through the season and had an immediate impact. In the championship win over the Novi Sad Dukes, Oliver threw three touchdown passes.

Rated as one of the top five quarterbacks in Division II football he ranked 5th in the nation in passing efficiency at 166.9, with only nine interceptions. and ranked in the top 15 in every quarterback statistic including passing efficiency, passing TDs, and passing yards.

With 3,510 passing yards and 35 TDs in 2014, Oliver set two Kentucky Wesleyan single-season records. In his senior year, 2015, he threw for 3,108 yards and 31 touchdowns with a 63.8 completion percentage.

Wild Boars: Why did you decide to return to Serbia and Wild Boars?

Oliver: I returned to the Wild Boars because we had great success in my first season as a wild boar. I was welcomed and treated like family from the first day I landed. I want to win another championship for the city of Kragujevac.

WB: What are your impressions of Kragujevac and Wild Boars?

Oliver: The Wild Boars have made Kragujevac a home away from home for me. The people there are great people. I plan for my family to come visit this season and I look forward to them meeting the great people of Kragujevac.

WB: Have you found a favorite Serbian food?

Oliver: Most all of the food I ate was great but I can’t pronounce or even begin to spell any of I­t­. But I know that the apple juice in Serbia is incredible. I have definitely missed that while I’ve been in America.

WB: What was your football highlight in 2017?

Oliver: My football highlight was hoisting up the Serbian National championship trophy with the team.

WB: What have you enjoyed the most about playing in Europe so far?

Oliver: I’ve enjoyed being an ambassador for the sport of football but mainly i have enjoyed meeting great people and realizing how alike people really are. Even though they have never met and live half way across the world.

WB: You had great season in 2017. What do you expect for 2018?

Oliver: For 2018 I want to see our team reach its full potential. I want to experience a full season of every giving maximum every to achieve the same goal. And that goal being first for everyone to become the best player they can be. And secondly to win a CEFL championship and to repeat as the SAAF champions.
