LIVE STREAM: Spain’s Serie A Semis – Murcia Cobras v. Badalona Dracs (11a CEST, 5a EDT)

The Badalona Dracs play host to the Murcia Cobras Sunday in the second semifinal in Spain’s top league, the LNFA – Liga Nacional  de Futbol Americano.

Badalona finished the 2017 regular season with a 9-1 record while the 4-6 Cobras qualified for the playoffs on the final weekend of play by beating the second place Reus Imperials 34-7.

Badalona won both regular season games against the Cobras by a combined score of 59-7.

Nevertheless Murcia, in their first year in Spain’s elite league, surprised many by making the playoffs. However, facing the defending champion Dracs will be a tall task for the Cobras.

Badalona enters the game as the top offensive and defensive team in the country. The Dracs scored 430 points over the 10 game regular season while giving up only 119 or 11.9 points per game. They have the leading quarterback in Sergio Gonzalo who threw for a record 48 touchdowns. His two favorite targets, Hunter Lee and Joey Herrick, combined for a total of 186 points between them.

The Dracs are coming off a European Big6 season which saw them play two of the top teams in Europe.

Murcia won two of their last three games however and have one of the best running backs in Spain in Kevin Gramage. Quarterback Angel Clemente enjoyed an excellent season and his favorite target, Benedict Von Jagow, is difficult to cover.

Although Badalona is the heavy favorite, the Murcia Cobras may well surprise.
