United Arab Emirates’ EAFL Falcons Top Team India in International Friendly
U.A.E.’s all-star team hands Indian team international friendly loss
The visiting United Arab Emirates’ EAFL Falcons disappointed the host Team India beating them 27-6 in India’s first international friendly ever last weekend.
More than 4,000 fans took in the game at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, India. This was the third international game for the EAFL Falcons this year.
Earlier this June, the Falcons traveled to Kazakhstan defeating the Almaty Titans 15-13 after overwhelming the Colombo Lions in early April in Sri Lanka.
The Falcons took a 21-0 halftime lead against an India squad that seemed to be getting to know each other. The Emirati scoring was lead by running back Luke Norrey who scored two touchdowns for the Falcons. Quarterbacks Dustin Cherniawski and Vivaldi Tulysse added one apiece for the win.
Versatile Zavier Cobb was named MVP of the game playing quarterback, safety and wide receiver for a Falcons squad. The EAFL All-stars only traveled 20 players.
Needless to say, Team India, assembled from different parts of the country to play in this game at the beginning of June, took some time to adjust to the speed of the Falcons’ offense. By the second half they were adapting, picking off a EAFL pass, sacking the Falcon’s quarterback twice and scoring their lone touchdown.
Falcons head coach Kyle Jordan was happy with the win. Listen to his post game interview and an interview with Samer Omar, the captain of the Falcons.
