2017 NFL Conference Championships Preview

The AFC and NFC Championship Games are on Sunday this weekend. The two winners will advance to the Super Bowl and play on February 5th 2017 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Packers vs. Falcons Preview

The Atlanta Falcons host the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.

Green Bay defeated the Giants (38-13) in the wild card round and the Cowboys (34-31) in the divisional round. Atlanta had a first-round playoff bye and defeated the Seahawks (36-20) last week in the divisional round.

The Giants are eliminated from the playoffs, but New Jersey residents can enjoy a new legal online casino in NJ.

Atlanta have the best offense this season. They’re averaging 33.8 PPG (1st) and 415.8 YPG (2nd) on offense. Matt Ryan is having a MVP caliber season, but you can never feel too safe betting on the Falcons in a big game.

You can bet on the Falcons at –5 in the point spread market, which is what I recommend.

Aaron Rodgers is magical during the playoffs and he has led the Packers to eight wins in a row. The Packers aren’t as strong offensively as the Falcons, but they’re still averaging 27.0 PPG (4th) and 368.8 YPG (8th).

It’s safe to assume this match-up will be a wild shootout from start to finish. The Falcons are allowing 25.4 PPG (27th) and 266.7 PYPG (28th), while the Packers allow 24.2 PPG (21st) and 269.2 PYPG (31st).

Ryan and Rodgers are going to throw for 300+ yards a piece and this game will be close, but the Falcons have a lot more weapons on offense, especially if Jordy Nelson is unable to suit up again for Green Bay.

Steelers vs. Patriots Preview

Can the Pittsburgh Steelers dethrone the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game?

There’s no denying the Steelers have a potent fast-striking offense. Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown are one of the best QB/WR combos in the NFL, plus the Steelers have the leagues-best RB in Le’Veon Bell.

Pittsburgh have defeated the Dolphins (30-12) and Chiefs (18-16) so far in the playoffs. Pittsburgh kicked six FGs and scored zero TDs last week, but they still managed to leave Kansas City with a victory.

New England had a first-round bye and defeated the Texans (34-16) last week, but Tom Brady didn’t play great and they’ll need to play much better offensively if they expect to advance to the NFL Super Bowl.

I don’t expect this game to have too many points scored. The Patriots only allow 15.6 PPG (1st), while the Steelers are giving up 20.4 PPG (10th). Despite both teams having great offenses, defense will likely prevail in this one.

You can find the Steelers at +6 points ATS right now and that’s my recommended bet. The fact it should be a lower scoring game should mean the Steelers will be able to keep it within the point spread.

If you’re feeling like gambling then you could consider betting on the Steelers to win straight-up. Pittsburgh are paying well to win on the money line and based on how the Patriots looked last week, Pittsburgh could definitely win.

With that being said, my two best bets are the Falcons ATS and Steelers ATS.

One option you have is to bet both of these picks on a parlay to increase the payout odds. Regardless of how you wager on these two NFL Conference Championship Games, we’re going to be treated to two excellent football games.
