In a thrilling showdown, the Las Rozas Black Demons claimed their fourth consecutive title in the 2026 Spanish Bowl, defeating the Badalona Dracs 27-13 at the Badalona Municipal Stadium this past weekend.
This victory solidifies the Black Demons’ dominance in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano, continuing a reign that began in 2023. Despite a valiant effort from the Dracs, they were unable to contain the powerful running game of the Black Demons.
Strong start for Las Rozas
The Black Demons wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring on their first possession. Quarterback Diego Lliteras connected with Pablo Sánchez on a fantastic pass, setting up running back Daniel Romero for his first touchdown of the game, putting Las Rozas ahead 7-0. The Dracs responded with a promising drive, reaching the red zone, but their attempt at a field goal fell short, thanks to a strong defensive stand from the Black Demons.
Building the lead
Taking advantage of the momentum, Las Rozas extended their lead with another touchdown from Romero, who was proving to be a force on the field. Black Demons defensive back Julio Aguado then picked off Dracs quarterback Pol Singleton further compounding the Dracs‘ troubles, allowing Romero to score again, making it 21-0. However, Badalona finally found their rhythm, with Singleton rushing for a touchdown just before halftime, narrowing the score to 21-7.
Second half action
The second half began with the Dracs looking to cut into the deficit, but the Black Demons‘ defense held firm, stifling their efforts. Romero continued to shine, leading the charge downfield, and Lliteras capped off a strong drive by punching the ball in himself, pushing the score to 27-7 late in the third quarter.
Despite the uphill battle, the Dracs refused to back down. A deep pass from Singleton to Eloi Soler reignited their hopes, bringing the score to 27-13. However, the Black Demons‘ defense remained resolute, and a final interception by Yago Sánchez sealed the victory, securing the championship for Las Rozas.
With this win, the Black Demons reaffirm their status as the top team in the league, while the Dracs will look to regroup and come back stronger next season.
