China - DeHeng Bowl poster-2Our six China Sports Universities (Shenyang Sports University, Wuhan Sports University , Xi’an Sports University, Tianjin Sports University, Hebei Sports University & the 2014 University champion Shandong Sports University) will compete for the 2015 title.

What makes this Championship Series unique is that 100% of the athletes and coaches are Chinese.

The China Arena Football League (CAFL) has been training and working with the universities for close to 3 years now. The college program has been built to become the feeder system for the CAFL professional league that will kickoff in 2016.

After multiple discussions with the Sports Ministry in China, the CAFL wanted to better prepare the collegiate players with another year of experience before moving some players to the next level. The CAFL will also use this time to further develop a strong fan base for the leagues debut in the fall of 2016.

It’s exciting to see the amount of American football being played now in China. The CAFL is thrilled to be able to give all Chinese athletes, as well as foreign athletes, the opportunity to play the great game of football on a professional level in 2016.
