Serbia: Kragujevac Wild Boars sign All American RB Ashton Heard

Defending Serbian champions, the Kragujevac Wild Boars, have signed running back Ashton Heard (North Greenville University (NCCAA, Division II)

Heard, 5’9″, 185 lb, is  a native of Abbeville, South Carolina spent the 2019 season with Denmark’s Copenhagen Towers where he rushed for 743 yards in five games helping the team reach the Danish final. A season-ending injury in the semifinals prevented him from playing in the championship game which they lost. He had arrived in Denmark after playing for North Greenville University (NCAA Div. II) where he was a a first team All American. In his four years playing for the Crusaders (2014-2017) he accumulated 2,926 yards while scoring 20 rushing touchdowns. and catching 39 passes for 487 yards and three touchdowns. He holds the school single-game rushing record, carrying the ball 31 times for 315 yards and two touchdowns against Tusculum University in 2015.

“I choose to play for the Wild Boars because I really admire the hard work and consistency of the program in which they have won 4 National Championships in a row. That alone says a lot! From all of the insights I have received about the level of play is good in Serbia 🇷🇸 and there are plenty of talented hardworking athletes. I know that Wild Boars has one of the largest fan bases and I am exciting to not only represent myself but represent the Wild Boars in a positive manner! My expectations in the First league in the CEFL would be expecting good competition which would require for my teammates and I to work hard week in and week out to achieve our goal in consecutively winning a 5th Championship!”
