LIVESTREAM Poland: Tychy Falcons @ Krakow Kings, May 9, 12:00 CET (12 noon, 06:00 am ET)

The Krakow Kings (1-1) will host the Tychy Falcons (1-0) in this Polish Football League matchup.

Both the Falcons and Kings are seen as legit championship contenders as their rosters are filled with experienced players.

The Tychy Falcons hit the field for the first time since April 17th when they defeated the Warsaw Eagles 41-3.  In that game, Tychy’s defense dominated as their pass rush and tackling was superb. In the secondary, safety Laparish Lewis is a big hitter who can take away a large chunk of the field in coverage.  Anchoring the middle of their defense are two defensive tackles in twin brothers Dominik and Jacek Sikora.

Jacek Sikora on the matchup with an experienced Kings team:

We as the Falcons are hungry to play and we are well prepared for the Krakow Kings match, we do not disregard them because the Kings play good physical football.  It will be a great show we can’t wait anymore.

Offensively, the Falcons feature Polish running back Janek Szwej, one of the league’s best domestic talents. Szwej’s powerful running style is complemented well by Falcon’s quarterback Jules St. Ge, a speedy dual threat quarterback who ran for two touchdowns in their last game.

The Krakow Kings lost their most recent game 29-13 to the Bydgoszcz Archers. The loss was tough too watch offensively as the Kings were plagued by turnovers. Bright spots for them offensively included the connection between Filip Mościcki and receiver Bernard Wiazania. Another key to their success has been the powerful running of Alonzo Brock out of the backfield.

Defensively, Krakow has made some big plays this season. A clutch game-winning stop on a two-point conversion, multiple interceptions, and eyebrow raising big hits have been the calling card of the physical unit. Krakow defensive coordinator Malik Jackson, who spent the 2020 season as a coach with the Falcons, will be signaling in plays against his former team this weekend.

Jackson on coaching against a team he is so close with:

At the end of the day the players will get out there and have their fun. I’m sure there will be a lot of talking on both sides. I haven’t been this nervous for a game since 2013, it’s been a while since I’ve gone against people that I really like. I mean I spent Christmas with the offensive line coach there!

This game could be a playoff preview as both of these teams have their eyes on the Polish championship.
