Three-time winner of the Nordic U17 Championship tournament, Team Finland, will face Norway today, Wednesday, October 19 in the opening game of the 2022 tournament for both teams at Myyrmäki football stadium in Vantaa, Finland.
Finland won the silver medal in the 2019 tournament after dropping a narrow 13-7 decision to Team Sweden. The last time Finland and Norway faced each other was in the 2019 opening game when the Finns came out on top 24-6. Norway went on to win the bronze medal that year after beating Team Denmark 6-2.
The Finnish national team has won this event twice, in 2013 and 2017.
The winner of this game will advance to the gold medal final on Saturday, October 22 while the loser plays in the bronze medal game.
