ELF: German wideout Louis Geyer returns to Stuttgart Surge

The Stuttgart Surge has announced that German wideout Louis Geyer will be returning to the team for the 2023 European League of Football season after a year spent in Cologne with the Centurions.

The 6’1″, 200 pound Geyer began his career in the ELF last year with the Surge in what turned out to be a two-win season. Geyer, one of the bright sparks of the Surge, decided to move on to greener pastures in the hope of more success in 2022.

Despite a strong start to the season, with what initially looked to be one of the most effective aerial attacks in the league, the Centurions quickly began to regress. Cologne started the season with two strong wins in which Geyer had eight receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

In the games that followed, all but the last of which being a loss, Geyer pulled in a further 39 receptions for 577 yards and seven touchdowns. While the Centurions fell apart, Geyer remained consistent.

His ability to remain level-headed whilst in the middle of a maelstrom will undoubtedly be something he learnt during his first year at Stuttgart. As Geyer now returns to the Surge with a second year of experience in the ELF under his belt, Jordan Neuman, the longtime Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns bench boss and new Surge head coach, will look to lean on the 21-year old to be a German bastion of hope as they hope to turn the Surge around.
