Braunschweig New Yorker Lions sign one of Germany’s top defenders, DB Jamaal White

The Braunschweig New Yorker Lions have signed one of Germany’s top defensive backs in safety Jamaal White (Northwestern State University, NCAA Div. I FCS).

The 27 year old, 6’0″, 195 lb White from Garland, Texas has spent the last three seasons as a safety anchoring the defensive secondary for the Berlin Rebels. He has amassed a total of 215 tackles during that time along with eight interceptions and six forced fumbles. He also had 2,400 yards as a punt and kick returner and eight touchdowns.

White has earned a reputation in the GFL as a  hard-nosed defender, and helped transform the Rebels one of the most physical secondaries in Europe.

At Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana, he recorded 196 tackles in three seasons (2010, 2011, 2012) while leading the team in interceptions with a total of 10.

The Lions, winners of the German championship four years in a row (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) reached the German semifinals in 2018 where they were eliminated by the Frankfurt Universe.
