LIVESTREAM: Italy – Lazio Ducks @Torino Giaguari, Sunday, April 14, 3p CEDT (9a EDT)

The 0-3 Torino Giaguari who are badly in need of a win, will play host to the 3-1 Lazio Ducks in the fifth weekend of play in Italy’s Div. 1 Sunday, April 14 at  Stadio Primo Nebiolo in Turin, Italy.

The Giaguari have struggled early in the Italian season dropping three losses to the Bolzano Giants (41-7), Bergamo Lions (31-20) and Firenze Guelfi, 49-14.

Torino quarterback Mark Wright is the fourth leading passer in Italy this year so far but still only thrown for 479 yards and four touchdowns in three games. His leading receiver is Michael Wacoubo who has 11 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown. Adehkeem Brown as his second-leading receiver with seven catches for 104 yards. The Giaguari’s ground game has improved and is now averaging 86.7 yards rushing per game.

Lazio bounced back last week from a disappointing 36-22 loss to the Firenze Guelfi, beating the Bergamo Lions 34-21. The Ducks, under head coach Davide Giuliano, had looked sharp in their two opening wins. They dismantled the Ancona Dolphins beating them easily, 41-12. The Ducks had a solid opening weekend win over the Bologna Warriors the week before, doubling up on them 40-20.

In Lazio’s three games quarterback Tyler Johnson has completed 77 of 111 passes for 866 yards and 11 touchdowns, tops among all quarterbacks, while running back Mike Gentili picked up where he left off in 2018, racking up 301 yards rushing and scoring two touchdowns. Leading receivers for the Ducks have been Tommaso Pozzebon who has had 15 catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns and Gentili with 15 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Lorenzo Melchiorre has been spectacular at times with 180 yards receiving and five touchdowns, three in the win over the Dolphins.
