Ancona Dolphins cruise past Milano Rhinos to maintain Italian Football League Group A lead
The Ancona Dolphins (6-1) reaffirmed their title credentials with a 35-7 rout of the Milano Rhinos (3-5) at Stadio Dorico, leveraging a relentless aerial assault to stay atop Italian Football League Group A standings.
Eaton’s second-quarter barrage seals win
After a scoreless first quarter, Ancona QB Blake Eaton ignited the offense, firing three second-quarter touchdowns—two to receiver Tyler Terhark and one to Matteo Dazzani. Kicker Cristiano Brancaccio’s flawless PATs built a 21-0 halftime lead. The Rhinos’ defense, overwhelmed by the Dolphins’ precision, offered little resistance.
Late consolation fails to dim dominance
Ancona extended their lead in the second half as Eaton connected with Allessio Orlandini and Dazzani again, stretching the margin to 35-0. Milano avoided a shutout with QB Marquez McCray’s 12-yard TD pass to Simone Boni in the final minutes, followed by Boni’s PAT.
The Dolphins, now eyeing a pivotal clash against the Bergamo Lions, remain in control of their playoff destiny. For the Rhinos, the loss underscores a season marred by defensive struggles, with postseason hopes all but extinguished.
