Austin Brock returns to Finland, signs with East City Giants

Wide receiver Austin Brock is making his return to Finland’s Maple League, signing with the East City Giants for the upcoming 2026 season. Brock previously played in Finland during the 2024 season with the Kuopio Steelers, where he made a significant impact. After spending this past season in Spain, where he led the scoring in the Spanish Liga Nacional de Fútbol with the Mallorca Voltors, Brock is eager to strengthen the Giants’ offense.

A standout performer
In his last season with the Steelers, Brock finished second in the Maple League in receiving yards, racking up 1,032 yards and nine touchdowns on 72 receptions. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the league’s All-Stars roster, showcasing his ability to make big plays. Brock’s versatility was evident as he also contributed defensively, recording two tackles and a pass breakup in a single game.

Success in Spain and Germany
Before returning to Finland, Brock had a successful season in the German Football League with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, where he caught 65 passes for 1,092 yards and 10 touchdowns. His ability to average 16.8 yards per catch and surpass 100 receiving yards in seven games solidified his reputation as a consistent big-play threat. In Spain, he continued to shine, leading the LNFA in scoring with 11 touchdown passes and a two-point conversion, totaling 68 points for the season.

From college star to pro ready
A graduate of Mount St. Joseph University (NCAA Div. III), Brock was a model of production and consistency in college. Over his career, he hauled in 138 passes for 1,874 yards and 22 touchdowns, earning First Team All-Conference honors, two conference championships, and his team’s Offensive Player of the Year award. His performance also earned him invites to the 2023 FAF D1 Senior All-Star Bowl and Podyum All-Star Bowl, underscoring his reputation among scouts.

The 5-11, 185 pound, 26 year old from Gainesville, Georgia is poised to make a significant impact with the East City Giants. His experience and proven track record in both Finland and abroad make him a valuable addition to the team. As the Giants prepare for the new season, fans can expect Brock to be a key player in their quest for success in the Maple League.
