Austria – New rushing, tackling leaders as Austrian Football League heads into final stretch

As the Austrian Football League heads into the home stretch with just three games remaining, the Ljubljana Silverhawks boast the top passing offense in the league as evidenced by the passing and receiving leaders. But the one of the top teams – the Swarco Raiders – have two of the five top tacklers.

However, the other leaders in each category play for teams battling for playoff spots or survival and are also keys to their teams.

Passing

Ljubljana Silverhawks QB Anthony Gardner remains the leading passer in the Austrian Football League with 2,364 yards and a league-leading 26 TDs. Dacia Vienna Vikings QB Kevin Burke, trails in 2nd with 2,012 and 24 TDs.  His counterpart with Swarco, Sean Shelton, is as usual near the top of the stats standings in yardage with 2,007 yards and 21 TDs and stays 3rd. Mödling Rangers Taurice Scott  has moved into 4th and now has 1,667 yards passing while Brandon Gorusch of the Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants now occupies 5th having thrown for 1,616 yards and 16 TDs following a 531 yard, 7 TD passing day against the Raiders.

Receiving

Matic Tomse of the Ljubljana Silverhawks continues to lead all receivers in the Austrian League after catching 7 passes for 111 yards and 2 TDs in a win over the Traun Steel Sharks. He now has 950 yards and 12 TDs. The Mödling Rangers offense relies on the passing of Scott and the receiving of Roman Namdar who has 702 yards and 14 TDs in seven games, or 2 TDs per game. Silverhawks receiver Eugen Sumic has advanced into 3rd with 601 yards and 5 TDs. Bernhard Seikovits of the Vikings has jumped up a few spots and now sits 4th with 588 yards and 7 TDs. And Graz Giants receiver Philipp Sommer is right behind in 5th with 581 yards and 6 TDs.

Rushing

Danube Dragons QB Dylan Potts continues to lead all rushers (he is the 6th leading passer) with 820 yards and 16 TDs. Not far behind him though is Blue Devils RB Colby Goodwyn with his 759 yards. Felix Stadler is one of the few bright lights for the Traun Steelsharks with 753 yards rushing. Silverhawks QB Anthony Gardner has moved into 4th with 467 yards and is the only QB to make it on both passing and rushing lists.  Vikings RB Alexander Hertel continues to climb the list and is now in 5th with 450 yards and 7 TDs.

Tackles

Swarco’s Fabian Seeber has taken over top spot with 54 tackles after an 11 tackle performance last week against the Giants. Linebacker Jayden Dobbs continues to make plays for the winless Cineplexx Blue Devils and now has 51.5 tackles total. Thomas Schnurrer from the Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants is also  keeping pace and has notched 45 tackles in total keeping him in 3rd while Raiders linebacker Philipp Margreiter has edged up into 4th with 39.5.  Matthias Rebl of the Danube Dragons remains in 5th with 35 total.
