Austria’s Danube Dragons Sign QB Jamal Londry-Jackson

The Danube Dragons, who play in the Austrian first division, have announced the signing of quarterback Jamal Londry-Jackson (Appalachian State University) for the 2016 season. Londry-Jackson (6’2″, 205 lb) will add a new dimension to the Dragon’s offense with his pocket passing abilities.

Head coach Ivan Zivko:

“Jamal is a talented athlete who can distribute the ball to different receivers. He has an excellent pocket presence and can scramble when needed. We were looking for a good pocket passer this season and we have found him.”

Last year, Londry-Jackson played quarterback for Vantaan Taft in the Finnish top division. A graduate of Appalachian State (Div. I FCS) he was nominated as an All-Conference First Team and for the Walter Payton Award.

He led the Southern Conference in total passing yards (3278 yards), completions, pass attempts and total offense in the categories and threw for 39 touchdowns in his four seasons. In addition, he scored 14 touchdowns on the ground.

Following his college career, he had stints with both the Billings Wolves and the Tri-City Fever in the Indoor Football League.

With the Dragons, Londry-Jackson has an excellent group of receivers to throw to including Matthias Rebl, Philipp Haun, Leonel Misangumukini and Tobias Morgenbesser as well as Johannes Prammer and Felix Rice Sacher.

The Dragons play their first home game March 28.
