Austria’s Mödling Rangers sign Colorado State University-Pueblo RB Austin Micci

The Austrian Football League’s AFC Mödling Rangers have signed Colorado State University-Pueblo (NCAA Div. II) running back Austin Micci for the 2021 season.

The 5’9″, 191 pound, 23 year old from Colorado Springs, Colorado rushed for 2,706 yards and 27 touchdowns in his four years with the Thunderwolves, adding 31 receptions for 420 yards and four scores. He finished his career as the school’s fifth all-time career rusher averaging 5.3 yards a carry.

Micci graduated in the fall of 2019 with a degree in business management and went on to get his masters in business administration. He was a firs team Academic All American in his senior year.

The Rangers did not play in 2020 due to the pandemic but finished the 2019 season in the AFL with a 4-6 regular season record, reaching the wild car playoffs where they were eliminated by the Prague Black Panthers.

The Rangers kick off the 2021 AFL season on March 27 when they host the 2020 title holders, the Dacia Vienna Vikings. Six teams will be vying for the championship title in Austria this year. Along with the Rangers and Vikings, the Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants, Swarco Raiders Tirol, SsangYong Danube Dragons and Prague Black Panthers will also compete.
