Baltic League: Tartu Titans dominate Vilnius Iron Wolves in historic shutout victory
The Tartu Titans (Estonia) earned their first victory since August 2017 in commanding fashion, shutting out the Vilnius Iron Wolves (Lithuania) 38–0 in a decisive Baltic League home performance.
Defense sets the tone early
From the opening series, Tartu’s defense established control. On just the third play of the game, Ogün Öztürk intercepted a pass and returned it for an immediate touchdown. The momentum continued as the offense quickly capitalized, with tight end Kevin Sakson adding a first-quarter touchdown reception. The defensive dominance persisted into the second quarter with a critical goal-line stand, followed by back-to-back interceptions by Brent England and Orm-Gregori Joost. Each takeaway led directly to points, including a rushing touchdown by quarterback Ott Sellis and a receiving score by Konrad Paluch just before halftime, giving the Titans a commanding 26–0 lead.
Offense seals the statement win
The second half offered more highlights as the Titans continued to execute efficiently. Receiver Markus Nurmik provided the standout moment of the third quarter, securing a deep pass and sprinting for a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, veteran Orm-Gregori Joost capped the scoring with a rushing touchdown, finalizing the 38–0 result. The comprehensive performance marked a significant milestone for the program, snapping an eight-year winless drought in emphatic fashion and providing momentum as the team prepares for upcoming road games against the Klaipėda Curonians and a regular-season finale in Riga
