Brussels Black Angels come out on top in Belgian Showdown

The Brussels Black Angels won a convincing 21-8 victory over crosstown rivals the Brussels Tigers in Belgian top league action to remain undefeated and in sole possession of first place with two games left in the regular season.

Black Angels quarterback Francis Njufom threw three touchdown passes, two to tight end Mike Schoonheyt and one to wide receiver Thomas Bouron.

Running back Rudy Mwamba scored the lone touchdown for the Tigers.

Both teams entered the game on hot streaks with the Tigers with the best offense in Belgium having racked up 257 points in four games was facing the best defense as the Black Angels had only allowed a single point in four games.

Trailing 8-6 at halftime, the Black Angels defense stiffened in the second half forcing the Tigers to punt the ball time and again. Meanwhile, the Black Angels offense was able to sustain drives and Schoonheyt scored both of his touchdowns on short passes.

With two regular season games remaining, these two teams are already eyeing a rematch, this time in Belgian Bowl XXX.
