Wide receiver Boogie Knight of the SEKISUI Challengers has been named the X-League’s Most Valuable Player for the 2025 season, capping a year where he led the league with 629 receiving yards and delivered multiple game-changing performances.
A record-setting campaign
The 26-year-old, 5’11”, 190-pound playmaker from Jefferson, Ohio solidified his status as Japan’s top offensive weapon with a series of explosive outings. His most dominant performance came in a sixth-round matchup against the Fujitsu Frontiers, where he hauled in 11 receptions for 215 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning score. This followed a strong 2024 season where he recorded 58 catches for 649 yards and six touchdowns, earning first-team all-league honors for the second consecutive year.
From rookie sensation to league MVP
Knight’s rise has been rapid and remarkable. After joining the Challengers in 2023, he immediately made an impact, leading the league in receptions (39) and receiving yards (455) en route to earning Rookie of the Year and first-team all-league accolades.
