The Copenhagen Towers (7-0) scored four second half touchdowns to pull away from the surprisingly feisty Søllerød Gold Diggers (2-7) downing them 41-20 in late season Danish American football league play Sunday in Copenhagen.
With the win, the Towers remain undefeated and on top of the standings in Denmark with three games left in their season.
In a game that did not in any way resemble the 70-46 blowout earlier in the season, the Gold Diggers did not make it easy, taking an early lead and then trailing by only one point at the half, 14-13.
The Gold Diggers took an early 6-0 lead on an uncharacteristic fumble by wide receiver Aske Troen. Towers quarterback Randy Schroeder got the offense rolling though and capped an excellent drive with a touchdown pass to Troen and Troen kicked the extra point to give Copenhagen a 7-6 lead. Søllerød retook the lead though on their next possession moving ahead 13-7 midway through the second quarter.

Running back Junior Konate put the Towers back in front with a two yard plunge with just over a minute to go in the half.
Schroeder wasted no time in the second half, kicking the Towers offense into a higher gear finding Dayton Winn to increase the lead to 21-13. Copenhagen scored again in the third to extend the lead to 27-13. But the Gold Diggers were not done reducing the lead to 27-20 early in the fourth.
Phillip Thun Nielsen put the game out of reach midway through the last quarter with another Towers touchdown and then Mads Marquard Nielsen recovered a Søllerød fumble and returned it to seal the win, 41-20.
