Dutch Lions fill out coaching staff

Dutch Lions head coach Winston Ronde is putting together his coaching staff for the IFAF European Championship qualifier games against Denmark and Finland at record speed.

Ronde has brought on former national team quarterback Richard Bouthoorn as his quarterback coach and offensive coordinator. Bouthoorn won the Dutch championship with the Alphen Eagles in 2014. On the offensive side, he will be assisted by former NFL (Atlanta Falcons)/ (CFL (BC Lions receiver Geraldo Boldewijn (receivers) and running back coach Wayne Neijhorst. Nicholas Cantlon will coach the offensive line.

A trio of  Amsterdam Crusaders will handle the defense. Current Crusaders head coach Hassan Alebade will be in charge of the defensive backs, while Djindra Ramsahai will take care of the defensive line. Former college linebacker Dylan Bakker (North Dakota) is responsible for the linebackers. And finally, former international Idemar Bernadicas will handle special teams duties.

The Dutch Lions will play their first international game in Arnhem on October 12 when they face Finland. A week later, the team travels to Denmark to take on the Danish national team.
