ELF: Tirol Raiders sign All American WR Darion Chafin

The Tirol Raiders of the European League of Football have announced the signing of former University of Incarnate Word wide receiver Darion Chafin.

The 6’3″, 195 pound native of Wichita Falls, Texas finished his career at Incarnate Word (NCAA, Div. 1) hauling in 156 passes for 2,388 yards and 33 touchdowns and set a UIW record with 262 yards receiving in one game (vs University of Nevada). In his senior year (2022) he was named to the All-American Third Team, 2022 Southland All-Conference First Team and the 2022 Phil Steele All-America Team.

Chafin had workouts with the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers last summer, but wasn’t picked up by an NFL team. He was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the XFL rookie draft last year and then signed again with them for the 2024 UFL season but was released.

The Tirol Raiders are entering their third season in the ELF and open their 2024 season on the road against the Milano Seamen.
