ELF: Wroclaw Panthers sign QB Cody Williams

The Wroclaw Panthers, 2020 Polish champions, got a new quarterback for their 2021 season in the European League of Football, agreeing to terms with D2 all-conference quarterback Cody Williams.

The Panthers are opting for an American quarterback in 2021 after using Polish national team pivot Bartek Dziedzic all last season.

Williams statement to Wroclaw Panthers fans:

“I’m super excited to get out there and meet everybody, and everyone involved in the organization.  We have some big goals on the agenda this year and we’re gonna need all your guys support in order to accomplish that. “

The 6’4″, 200 pound Williams, a Massachusetts native, played two seasons at Monmouth University (NCAA D1:FCS) before transferring to Assumption College (NCAA D2). During his two seasons with the Assumption Greyhounds, Williams threw for 2,044 yards and 21 touchdowns while also rushing for 457 yards and 11 scores. His performance in 2018 earned him All-Conference honors in his final collegiate season.

Williams had signed to play with the Potsdam Royals in for the 2019 German Football League season but never suited up for them.

He joins a Panthers squad with a championship pedigree that has added former NFL tight end Ryan Smith and the leading rusher in the 2020 Finnish Maple League and AFI All-Pandemic Team RB, Lamar Carswell.
