European Championships moved to April 1, 2027??

As the German American football website Touchdown24.de reported, the 2018 European Championships that were canceled/postponed recently were suddenly scheduled  on the IFAF Continental Association of Europe Facebook page for January 2019. And then, within a day this date was changed again to April 1, 2027.

The IFAF Europe/IFAF Continental Association of Europe has offered no explanation for the bizarre turn of events.

Touchdown24.de was as puzzled as anyone else and after publishing the initial story, added a correction:

Editor’s note: Shortly after the publication of our report, the date of the event was changed by the IFAF to April 1, 2027.

As we are all aware, April 1 is April Fool’s Day which begs the question:

Is this someone’s idea of an April Fool’s Day joke in January?
