European League of Football reaches milestone as Goal Line, 885 Capital, and Oakvale become shareholders

The European League of Football (ELF) has secured a transformative investment from Goal Line Sports, 885 Capital, and Oakvale Ventures, marking a pivotal step in its mission to professionalize and expand American football across Europe. The trio of investors brings financial backing and expertise in sports, media, and technology to the league, which enters its fifth season with 16 teams across nine nations.

According to a Sky News report, the investment could be in the neighborhood of $10 million.

Strategic investor expertise unveiled
Goal Line Sports, led by FuboTV CEO David Gandler, injects streaming-media acumen into ELF’s growth strategy. Dubai-based 885 Capital, founded by Sudeep Ramnani and Jai Mahtani, adds experience from ventures like the Professional Fighters League and Baller League. London’s Oakvale Ventures, represented by Sandford Loudon, contributes financial and sports-tech savvy. ELF CEO Zeljko Karajica emphasized the partnership’s significance: “Their involvement accelerates our plans to internationalize the league and elevate its professionalism.”

Investors bullish on ELF’s potential
Gandler highlighted ELF’s untapped market of 500 million Europeans, calling it “uniquely positioned to become one of Europe’s most dynamic leagues.” Ramnani praised ELF’s “innovation and vision,” while Loudon cited its “rare financial traction and rapid fan engagement,” evidenced by 470,000 attendees in 2023.

Global reach and live spectacle
ELF’s 101-game season streams worldwide via DAZN’s Game Pass and airs on 20+ broadcasters, including North and South American networks. The league’s September 7 championship at Stuttgart’s MHP Arena will feature a halftime show by German hip-hop legends Die Fantastischen Vier, blending sports and entertainment.

Foundations for future growth
With fresh capital, ELF aims to expand its franchise footprint while enhancing production quality and fan experiences. The league’s hybrid model—combining European cultural identity with NFL-inspired presentation—continues to attract investors eyeing sustainable growth in live sports. As diverse teams like the Rhein Fire, Paris Musketeers, Nordic Storm and Madrid Bravos battle for the title, ELF solidifies its status as Europe’s premier gridiron showcase.
