Excitement builds for ERIMA GFL Bowl between Dresden Monarchs and Potsdam Royals

This Saturday, the Rudolf Harbig Stadium in Dresden will be the epicenter of German American football as the Potsdam Royals face off against the Dresden Monarchs in the ERIMA GFL Bowl powered by Viarealis. This championship clash promises to deliver thrilling action and unforgettable moments.

A unique matchup
Despite the final taking place in Dresden, the Monarchs will officially be considered the visiting team, as the Royals finished the regular season as northern champions. This unique dynamic adds an extra layer of intrigue to the matchup, with both teams eager to claim the coveted title.

Record ticket sales
With more than 18,000 tickets already sold, this year’s final is shaping up to be the second most successful GFL Bowl since 2008, even before kickoff. The excitement is palpable, and once the seat tickets are sold out, the legendary K-Block will be opened to accommodate even more fans. Fuad Merdanovic, 1st Chairman of the AFVD, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are looking forward to Dresden and a great backdrop.”

Sporting excitement at the highest level
The stakes are high for the Potsdam Royals, who are aiming for a historic three-peat—securing their third consecutive championship title. President Jens Torsten-Müller remarked, “We would never have believed that we would be able to create a threepeat at some point, and we still don’t take it for granted!” Meanwhile, the Monarchs are equally motivated, with head coach Greg Seamon emphasizing that past defeats will not affect their game plan. “Against a great organization like Potsdam, we made our plan to win!” he stated.
