Fehérvár Enthroners bolster secondary with signing of Jalen Dennis

The Fehérvár Enthroners (0-5) return from their European League of Football bye week with a major defensive upgrade, adding Austrian Football League (AFL) standout Jalen Dennis to their roster ahead of Week 7.

Defensive boost with Jalen Dennis
Dennis, a 6-1, 190 pound native of Wheeling, Illinois, is a versatile defensive back and joins the Enthroners after a dominant 2024 AFL season with the Prague Black Panthers, where he earned Defensive Player of the Year honors and Championship Game MVP. His league-leading 11 interceptions, paired with 67 tackles and 7 pass breakups, anchored Prague’s historic title run.

College versatility defines Dennis’s defensive foundation
Jalen Dennis developed his dual-threat capabilities at Carthage College (NCAA Div. III), where he began as a quarterback before transitioning to defensive back for his final two seasons. In 12 games on defense, he recorded 44 tackles and 5 interceptions, while making history as Carthage’s first player to score touchdowns via rush, pass, reception, and defense.

His collegiate career culminated at Missouri Southern State University (NCAA Div. II) in Joplin, Missouri, where he shifted exclusively to defense during the 2022 season. He tallied 43 tackles in 11 games and the move reinforced his adaptability and laid the groundwork for his professional transition.

This hybrid skill set, forged through positional shifts at both institutions, now positions Dennis to strengthen the Fehérvár Enthroners’ secondary as they push deeper into the European League of Football season.

His arrival signals the team’s urgency to shore up a pass defense seeking consistency.
