The Porvoon Butchers who play in Finland’s top league, the Maple League, have added serious firepower to their backfield with the signing for former Indianapolis Colts running back Josh Robinson.
Robinson, 5’8″, 220 lb, from Mississippi State (NCAA Div. FBS) was a sixth round pick of the Colts in the 2015 NFL Draft. He only saw action in five games that season and was released due to an injury suffered in the preseason. He signed in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes.
At Mississippi State, he came into his own in the junior season (2014) rushing for 1,203 yards and 11 touchdowns in 13 games including 197 rushing yards in a 34-29 win over LSU and 198 yards in a win over Kentucky. He finished his three-year college career with 1,997 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns as well as 493 yards receiving, most caught from current Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
