France: Stats leaders unchanged as season reaches midpoint

After five weekends of play in the French Federation of American Football Elite division, the Thonon Black Panthers remain the only unbeaten team thanks in large part to the play of QB Clark Evans who leads all rushers in yardage gained and is the fifth leading passer.

He is not alone as St. Ouen l’Aumône Cougars QB Luke Casey also finds himself in two categories, passing, where he is third overall, and rushing (second).

The  Marseilles Blue Stars have three players among the three categories while the Montpellier Hurricanes, St. Ouen l’Aumône Cougars, Grenoble Centaures and Thonon Black Panthers have two each. The Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons, Amiens Spartiates Rouen Leopards and Aix-en-Provence Argonautes have one each. The Asnieres Molosses, La Courneuve Flash and Evry Corsaires do not have a single player among the top five in any category.

Passing

Marseille Blue Stars QB Chase Burton continues to lead the passing yardage charts after leading his team to a 4-1 record and throwing for 1,254 yards and a league-best 14 TDs in five games. He threw for 262 yards in Marseille’s 24-0 shutout of Grenoble last week. e is followed by Hughes Hunter of the 3-1 Montpellier Hurricanes who is not far behind with 1,136 yards and 12 TDs.Luke Casey of the St. Ouen l’Aumône Cougars is third now with 822 yards while Grenoble Centaures pivot Sonny Weishaupt has slipped tow fourth with 804 yards. Thonon Black Panthers QB Clark Evens rounds out the top five with 624 yards and 10 TDs.

Rushing

Thonon’s Clark Evans still leads all rushers with his 291 yards while Luke Casey from the Cougars is now second with 258 yards rushing and 4 TDs. Amiens Spartiates Darius Dawsey rushed for 150 yards  last week against the Evry Corsaires and now has 244 yards to move into third. Rodrigue Sama of the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons trails him with 210 yards. Grenoble Centaures RB Emmanuel André is fifth. He has rushed for 177 yards.

Receiving

Montpellier Hurricanes WR Quentin Gramage leads all receivers with 494 yards and 6 TDs. Not far behind is Nicolas Cremer of the Rouen Leopards who has 360 yards. Aix-en-Provence WR Troy Rice had a spectacular day last week in a loss to the Hurricanes, hauling in 207 yards on only 7 catches to give him a total of 348 yards and third spot on the list. Blue Stars WR Rudy Dumar trails in fourth with 344 yards while his teammate Hadrien Lynda is the fifth leading receiver in the league with 322 yards and 5 TDs.
