France’s Favorites Stunned in Week 2 of FFFA’s Elite Season

Flash and Black Panthers suffer early season shockers!

The second week of the Elite Championship continued today when the Cougars of Saint-Ouen (1-1-0) hosted and upset the Flash de la Courneuve (1-1), giving us the first North Conference shock of the season. As expected, both teams have delivered a close game but the Cougars ultimately held strong at home, winning 31-21.

A late pick-6 (below) sealed the victory for the Cougars.

In the South, the Nice Dauphins (1-1) hosts the Black Panthers of Thonon-les-Bains (1-1), and against all odds, escaped with a 3-0 victory over the two-time defending champions in an ultra defensive game.

Below is a clip of the game’s only score, a FG by the Dauphins in the 2nd quarter.

The Aix-en-Provence Argonautes (1-0) were unable to play their game against the Centurions de Nimes (0-1) (match postponed by the weather).

The Molosses d’Asnieres-sur-Seine (1-1) hosted the Templiers d’Elancourt (0-1-1) on Saturday night. The Molosses jumped out to a 19-0 lead as coach Jerome Dondey’s offensive squad recorded two first half touchdowns. After the Templiers finally managed to score their first points of the match, the Molosses intercepted Elancourt’s quarterback Zach Shaw for the second time of the day and took it for a pick-six. Each team traded scored in the second half leaving the final score 31-14 for the Molosses.
